Mixed construction of metal houses of all kinds.
Advantages of this construction over conventional reinforced concrete:
- Reduction of the total cost as a smaller foundation is required because we have a much lighter superstructure but also no signs for the metal. Also, as we have a smaller foundation, much less earthworks are required.
- Architectural freedom as we can very easily have much larger openings without columns compared to conventional construction. In this way we can have large uniform spaces without columns interfering.
- Environmentally friendly as the metal is a 100% recyclable material and after its use can be reused. On the contrary, concrete is not recyclable, it has a large energy footprint and for this reason it will start to be hard to find in the near future.
- Construction speed. It is impressively faster a mixed construction than a conventional one as all the elements are manufactured in the factory and joined together on the project. Also, in a multi-storey building with a metal bearing body, we can simultaneously concrete all the slabs without waiting as in a conventional one.
